Monica Maldonado Williams is owner of GivingCity Austin, which she founded in 2007. She is a community engagement and communications professional with more than 25 years in the fields of nonprofits, associations, community engagement, and publishing. She is a frequent speaker on next-level volunteerism, nonprofits and social entrepreneurship, and is currently the manager of social impact and community engagement for University Federal Credit Union.

Monica has been recognized for her work with GivingCity with a 2015 Women Communicators of Austin Anne Durrum Robinson Creative Initiative Award, a 2011 SXSW Community Service Award, and the 2011 Austin American Statesman Social Media Award. She is also the co-founder of The New Philanthropists, a nonprofit on a mission to increase diversity on nonprofit boards, and received the 2018 YWCA Women of Color Making Change Award. Contributing Editor Madyson Russell is the Marketing and Communications Specialist at United Way for Greater Austin. Madyson graduated from Baylor University in the spring of 2017 and has worked with a wide range of nonprofits including the Texas Hunger Initiative, World Hunger Relief Inc. and the Share Our Strength No Kid Hungry Campaign.



Contributing Event Producer, Sarah Rucker, is the founder of Full Gallop, a production company that strives to bridge cultures and connect communities through creative collaborations and projects that work to enhance the nonprofit sector. A Native Texan and UT Austin alum, Sarah’s entire career have been in arts programming and research. She was a founding board member of Austin Emerging Arts Leaders and is a member of Americans for the Arts.


Contributing correspondent for FOX7’s “Good Day, Austin,” Courtney Clark, is a motivational speaker and the author of “The Successful Struggle: Powerful Techniques to Achieve Accelerated Resilience” and “The Giving Prescription: A Personal Plan for Healing through Helping.”



GivingCity Austin’s Events Reporter, Vicky Pridgen, is the Outreach Coordinator at the LBJ School of Public Affairs. As a mission-driven communications professional with eight years of experience, she helps to advance the initiatives of academic research centers and affiliated faculty at the LBJ School at The University of Texas at Austin.
